DEADLINE AND SUBMISSION
All applications for the 2003 JLSF Scholarships must be submitted
and postmarked on or before May 31, 2002
(EXTENDED from April 30!!), and addressed to:
JLSF Scholarship Application

Hollywood CA 90028
At least two winners will be selected and depending on application
volume, will include one from the Southern California area and
one from anywhere in the USA. Selection will be announced by
July 5, 2002.
Entries, including photographs, will not be critiqued or returned.
From the time of submission, all entries are the property of
the JLSF.
JUDGING CRITERIA
Applications will be judged by the JLSF selection committee
and the JLSF Board of Directors, according to the following criteria:
- long term commitment to Japanese language education
- extent or lack of other opportunities applicant has had for
study in Japan
- teaching experience and training background, i.e. methodology
courses, workshops, seminars, and conference particpation
- future potential
- level of Japanese language ability (see Qualifications #1)
