Los Angeles - August 30, 2000 - The Japanese Language Scholarship "Aurora" Foundation is pleased to announce their first Aurora Challenge Grant winner, Mr. Matthew D. Marr.

The Primary goal of the grant is to provide support for a USA citizen who resides in California and has a unique dream, in any field of endeavor, which is related to Japanese culture and which would never be possible to realize without traveling to Japan between fall of 2000 and summer of 2001.

He would like to use this grant to continue to pursue his life long objective of contributing to the amelioration of homeless in the US and Japan.

Matthew, the winner of the Aurora Grant, and Tracy Ann Pollard and Mr. James J. Buoye, the winners of the second annual JLSF scholarships will attend the award ceremony which is tentatively planned for Saturday, December 2nd, 2000.
